The Sacred Hearts Academy of Honolulu, Hawaii is a unique Catholic all-girls school. Established in 1909, the institution offers Catholic educational training to young women from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Its curriculum is composed of diverse courses designed to make every student a truly productive, religious and socially active citizen.
Among the distinct offers of the Sacred Hearts Academy is the Mock Trial competition. Young girls can get a feel of being a trial lawyer examining a witness on trial. This practice is one of the school’s marked distinctions with other schools. The Mock Trial is aimed at developing the students’ skills in communication and advocacy. It is also designed to encourage the students to be critical and analytical with regard to issues about the law.
The school also creates a Model United Nations Club to increase students’ awareness in the international affairs and to become active participants in international political, economic, and social concerns. Aside from the Model United Nations Club, the Sacred Hearts Academy also has a student chapter of the Amnesty International. The organization aims to generate the students’ interest in upholding human rights and civil liberties.
These offerings, aside from the quality academic curriculum the institution provides, assure a well-rounded training and development for the young girls.
