The President Theodore Roosevelt High School, or simply known as Roosevelt High School, is a public educational institution serving all students from Grade 9 to Grade 12. The institution was established in 1932 and is one of the oldest public high schools in Hawaii. The famed structures of the school buildings, constructed in Spanish architectural designs, are the attractions in the school.
Among the distinctions of the school is its highly acclaimed Speech and Debate Organization, which has produced some of the best debaters in the state in the Lincoln-Douglas debate category. Roosevelt High School is also known for sending its students to the most prestigious universities such as the Hanford University, Stanford University, Yale University and Princeton University, among others.
Its Student Council is regarded as one of the most active student bodies in the state. Members of the Roosevelt High School Student Government are active participants in the state level Student Organizations like the Hawaii State Student Council, the Hawaii State Secondary Student Conference, and the Honolulu District Student Council. Roosevelt students usually take the top position of these state student organizations.
