Radford High School was founded in 1957 and was named after Admiral Arthur W. Radford, the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces. The school is a public educational institution that caters to all students from Grade 9 to Grade 12.
Radford High School currently has more than 1,300 students. It has a student-teacher ratio of 18.6, well within the average range. Majority of its students, about 65%, come from the families of military servicemen. The school was accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges in 1999. The educational institution offers a thorough academic curriculum. Its course offerings also include advanced placement courses such as English language and literature, History, Calculus AB, among others. Radford High School also offers language arts for the talented and special children, the Applied Technology career development and many other selective courses.
Radford High School is located in Central Oahu on Salt Lake Boulevard near the Aliamanu Military Reservation. The campus grounds are located in a community of highly transient residents with a population of around 800,000. The school is bounded within the Pearl Harbor by the Hickam Air Force Base, the Foster Village and some parts of Aliamanu.
