In Hawaii, there are two sections known as Kamiloiki, the Heights and the Estates. The area used to be used for farming sweet potatoes and Milo trees. The wood from the Milo tree is used extensively in Hawaiian artwork.
The Kamiloiki Estates contains 78 family sized homes, which have an average size of about 1400 square feet. These homes were built between 1970 and 1980. These homes don't possess the wonderful views that you would expect from a home in Hawaii, but because of this the prices are very affordable.
Prices varied extensively depending upon the model and the size, but in 2007 the prices ranged from $680,000 to $770,000. Prices were slightly higher in 2008 and even higher yet in 2009. Kamilo Heights consists of a subdivision where Kamiloiki Estates ceases to exist and the road makes a U turn.
These houses are located on the base of the mountain which creates the Mariners Valley. These 86 homes were built in early 1990s and range from 1200 to 1700 square feet. Almost all of these homes posses great views that let you gaze over Koko Crater and Mariners Valley. The homes in this area ranged from $655,000 to 1.1 million in 2007.
