The weekends boost well for Hilo residents with its lush scenery many tourists and residents enjoy picnics in the parks located in town. Ice Pond and James Kealoha Beach are very pleasant places to visit at these times. Families and many visitors take refuge here for a nice barbecue or two. The accommodations in Hilo are very spacious and there is much room for all who visit. Leleui Beach park and Carl Smith Beach Park keep everyone occupied during the tourist season.
You can stop by the Hilo Farmer's Market and find a wide array of local merchandise or stroll by the Hilo Art Galleries & Palace Theater to see what's playing. The locals also enjoy the East Hawaii Cultural center, and Lyman Museum and House. Take the family by the Rainforest Zoo to see what native animal inhabit Hilo. While there are several attractions to visit Hilo has room for all. Or simply visit the most recognized festival in Hawaii is the Merrie Monarch Festival held every year in Hilo. What more could you ask for?
